The One God and Father
There is one God the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist (1 Cor 8:5-6)
1. REPENTANCE
The apostolic standard of repentance as taught by Christ and his Apostles – Repent and believe the Gospel – Repentance is the first step of initiation into the body of Christ.
Jesus the Messiah
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all.
2. BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME
Baptism in name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins is the second step in the apostolic formula for initiation into the body of Christ.
Life, Death and the Hope of Salvation
Despite death’s curse through one man’s trespass, the gift of righteousness following many trespasses now reigns in life through the one man Jesus Christ. Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.
3. GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Understanding the pattern and expectation of receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit – the third step of the Apostles Doctrine of Christian initiation.
